8.7.23 - What do you do while waiting?

Hi ,

I hope you have been encouraged by these weekly emails. As long as God gives me the thoughts and words, I'll continue typing them out :)

Have you ever been waiting on something that you asked God for? I have. Lots of times.

Many times I have become frustrated or hopeless, but that's not faith.

Faith is believing something before you actually see it happen.

So what do we do when we are waiting. Here are 4 things to help us while we are waiting:

  1. Stay Ready - We have to be ready for what we are asking God for. Get your house in order, get your job in order, get your health in order, get your finances in order, get your life in order so that when God comes through you are ready. We can't expect God to bless us in an area that we are not good stewards over. God has to be able to trust us with the little bit we do have before he gives us more.

  2. Stay Disciplined - This is hard for me. it's easy to do something for a few days but to do it for several weeks or months can be tough. For example, if God is telling you to pray more or read your bible more then be disciplined with these things. don't just do it one day and then do it again 5 days later. Idk why we are this way but we have to do better :)

  3. Stay in Prayer - this can feel annoying to pray over and over for the same thing. but why wouldn't we want to stay in communication with God about our problems, desires, questions etc? Prayer is our lifeline. If we don't stay in prayer then it's hard to stay connected to God. Sometimes this may be the very reason we are waiting. God wants to strengthen our prayer life.

  4. Exercise Faith - "Behave like what you are believing for" -why is it that when we ask God for something we don't behave in a way that it's already been done?  i don't know how many times i have asked God for something but didn't believe it fully with my heart. Somehow we have become conditioned to pray but not to exercise our faith. I just heard a sermon about when Jesus cursed the fig tree. Then the next day the disciples were shocked that the fig tree withered. Mark 11: 22- 24. 22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly[d] I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

I'm not sure who this was for, but I wanted to share it with you to encourage you while you are waiting. It's hard to wait but let's wait with expectation, always in prayer.

I appreciate you being a part of my community. It's always more than skin care :)

If this email has helped you please share it with someone you know. #helponehelpmany
