12.25.24 - light of the world

Good morning ,

Merry Christmas! Today, I want to share a demonstration with you that painted a beautiful picture of Christ and the church.

This past Sunday our family attended our Christmas church service and the title of the sermon was called "Light Of The World." The pastor was preaching about Jesus being the light of the world. On Christmas, we celebrate Jesus coming into a world of sin as a baby who will eventually be sacrificed to redeem us.

Our pastor then went on to read Matthew 5: 14-16:
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

As Christians, we are told by Jesus to let our light shine so that others may see us and glorify our Father. We shouldn't keep Jesus to ourselves. We have Jesus in our heart to share with others.

He then went on to demonstrate this with a candle. Each person in the church had a candle. Someone lit the pastor's candle and then the pastor and that person lit other's candles. Those people were asked to share their burning candles with others instead of keeping it to themselves. Before you knew it everyone was walking around lighting other's candles and the whole church was lit up. It was a beautiful picture of what it looks like to share the gospel.

There are so many lost and unsaved people in the world. What would it look like if we made it our daily mission to share our light? We are coming up on a new year and I pray that my life is a light to others. I pray that when someone sees or speaks with me, they know that I am a Christian. I pray the light of Christ shines brightly through my life and God will get all the glory.

We do not have Christ living in us so that we can secure our on 1 way ticket to heaven. We have Christ so that we can boldly declare the gospel and bring others to know him. Regardless of how you use your gifts and resources to share the gospel, we all should share the gospel.

I pray you have a Merry Christmas and you let your light shine to everyone who sees you.

I appreciate you being a part of my community. It's always more than skin care :)

If this email has helped you please share it with someone you know.

Love,
Danielle
