9.21.23 - When disappointment turns into a blessing

Hi ,

Testimony - When Your Disappointment Turns Into A Blessing

Last month I participated in a vendor event that I paid $199 to attend and was supposed to have 3-4K in attendance.

The vendor event only had 2100 in attendance and less than half of those people even knew about my table. I was supposed to be on street level with other vendors but unfortunately the non food vendors were placed upstairs with no promotion that we were even there. The coordinator never came to check on any of the vendors upstairs. Fortunately I broke even with the event, which was extremely disappointing given all the work & time that was put in.

It was my longest working event. I made so much product and I invested in a banner. Ya'll I was so disappointment because I was expecting it to be the complete opposite of what happened.

But God.

At the event I met a sweet girl who was a marketing coordinator for the location I was vending at. She was telling me about an upcoming event that would be hosted (unrelated to the company I had paid $199 to) and was going to see about having vendors.

About a week or so later she hit me up and asked me if I would come to the event to vend. She said there was no charge and they would provide me with a table and tent. I told her I would be interested so she put me in contact with the organizer of the event. You can imagine my concern with this location given my recent experience. Even though the event was through a different company my guard was still up.

I asked the organizer of the event if I would be upstairs and they said "no it would be on street level". Based on that info I decided I would go to the event. Ya'll I went to the event for free!!! Did I mention that?????

It was such a beautiful day, awesome turnout, I got a wristband for free food and I met some more amazing people. The only people who were chosen to vend were myself and another girl who owned a clothing boutique. The organizer and my new found friend (the girl who invited me) checked on us and were super welcoming. Out of all these small businesses and I was chosen to participate? I felt extremely grateful.

I’m pleased to announce that particular event was my best vending event in terms of sales. I met some amazing women and helped them with their skin care needs.

Although I was very disappointed by the event I paid $199, I was thankful for the opportunity. I was able to network and I realized that I have to ask more questions before attending events. That was a hard lesson learned but God is teaching me things early on in this journey and I’m grateful.

God has a real funny way of working things out. I didn’t know what to expect, but god came through once again. Like he always does.

I encourage you to look past what’s disappointing you in your situation and look for the opportunity. Ask God what are you supposed to learn. Pray for wisdom and direction. He will always come through for those that seek him. God is a redeemer. He will come through when you least expect it and show you that he is still God.

I appreciate you being a part of my community. It's always more than skin care :)
