11.15.23 - The choice is yours
Good morning ,
I was talking to my brother yesterday and he said every time he starts complaining he thinks about the time I asked him "Are you complaining?" lol
Back story - A while back I was talking to him and he was complaining and I directly asked him "Are you complaining?" It was halfway a joke and halfway trying to help him stop complaining.
It reminded me of what my pastor said this weekend "You have a choice."
He was referring to our choice in attending church on Sunday and checking it off the list or walking with Jesus each day of the week.
We have a choice in our response to others when they do us wrong.
We have a choice in how we react when worry and anxiety sets in.
We have a choice in who we call to share our problems with after a stressful day.
We all have a choice. Take a few moments and reflect on what choice you are making.
I'll be honest. I often have to catch myself. Like last weekend I had to catch myself quick.
Last weekend I participated in a Christmas Bazaar at a Christian Church nearby. The event was great but I had this super rude lady come to my table. She whispered (loudly) to her friend right in front of me not to buy my hair oil because it would probably make her hair fall out. Her friend ignored her and bought it anyway. I was about ready to fly across my table but I couldn't.
I just couldn't, even though I wanted to. I made a choice. I quickly asked Jesus to help me because one of my triggers is disrespectful people. I hate to be disrespected by anyone.
Anyways I gathered myself. I didn't make a scene. I didn't insult her back. I didn't see the lady again and I left the event with a smile.
Remember, you have a choice. We are not promised a trouble free life.
There will be trouble, there will be rude people, there will be temptation, there will be all sorts of things that try to get you off track.
What choice will you make? Who will you call first? Who will you rely on? Who will you place your hope in?
I made a choice earlier this year. I'm placing my hope in Jesus.
I appreciate you being a part of my community. It's always more than skin care :)
If this email has helped you please share it with someone you know.
Love,
Danielle
