11.21.23 - When dealing with trouble
Good morning ,
Thanksgiving is in just a few days and we have so much to be thankful for. But many of us, including me, are facing trouble and if we can be honest, it's hard to be thankful for the trouble.
Maybe it's trouble with your job, trouble in your finances, trouble with your health, trouble with your kids...there are lots are troubles we face.
I been facing trouble lately. I been trying to figure it all out. I been praying but I have been on my own mission as well.
This past weekend I did another vendor event and the lady next to me was a strong woman of God. It was such a blessing to talk to someone with such great faith and wisdom. She had a light about her and I could tell God is using her in mighty ways. She reminded me a lot of my grandma, but younger. Anyways she kindly pointed out that "I" was trying to do everything. It was really God's way of reminding me, he needs my obedience and for me to trust him that he will take care of the rest. Don't worry about the timeline, just keep doing the things God has called me to do. She even showed me the quote "Good morning, this is God. I will be handling ALL your problems today. I will not need your help so have a great day!".
Why are we like this? Why do we think God needs our help to solve everything? He needs our faith and trust in Him. He wants us to rely on Him like little kids rely on their parents for provision and protection. This is hard, especially if you are like me, and like to be in control.
I was on Tik Tok yesterday and this pastor popped up talking about trouble. My day had been filled with trouble so I kept listening and he went on to talk about James 1:2. I love the book of James, so I went to look over James 1. Here are a few verses. below. The pastor went on to say that trouble tests our faith and is an opportunity to grow in our relationship with God.
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.
You know what I love about the Bible. It does not sugar coat. It does not have any gray areas.
The Bible is clear. When we face trials (or trouble) we should consider it joy that we have an opportunity to grow closer to God. How many of us are missing our opportunities and missing our testimonies because we are trying to resolve everything on our own? I'll be the first to raise my hand.
This morning, Nov 21, I'm giving it all to God. I have been suffering from migraines the past couple of weeks. Between juggling all the things, stress, anxiety, worry, they have all crept in and I have been feeling so overwhelmed. God doesn't want this for me. So I'm giving it to Him. He will handle it. And he doesn't need me to intervene.
I encourage you to give your troubles to God. Allow God to do what only He can do. In the meantime, be in prayer and seek God for all your direction and wisdom.
Prayer Changes Everything.
I appreciate you being a part of my community. It's always more than skin care :)
If this email has helped you please share it with someone you know.
