8.7.24 - Back to school

Good morning ,

School is starting back for most of us and this year looks totally different. One of my kids is starting middle school and the other is not returning to public school. I'm looking forward to a new school year of learning and growing, and a crazy part of me is actually looking forward to getting back on a schedule. 

This summer I took some time to slow down. I found myself spending more time with the Lord, more time away from my phone/business and more time thinking about what I should do, rather than what I can do. I've come to a place of just because I have the idea, doesn't mean the idea happens right that moment. I have become more patient and thoughtful with my responses. I have tried my very best to look back at scripture and choose wisdom over emotion. 

Summer 2024 went nothing as expected. I planned to do more vendor events and host lip gloss parties. I planned to travel more than I did. I planned to work harder and maybe business would explode. I don't know that I had any big expectations but I do know that much of what I planned didn't happen. But the funny thing is I'm thankful for Summer 2024.I started writing my book. I spent more time being present. I joined a women's bible study group. I made new friends. This summer taught me so much. I grew in the Lord and I've gained so much clarity. 

I'm looking forward to being a full time homeschool mom, running my company, becoming an author and building my platforms to share my testimony and goodness of God. I can't tell you what this school year is going to bring but I'm excited for it. So much of life is changing and that's okay. Sometimes we can try to hold on to the past instead of embracing the new place God is taking us. I hope this school year is exciting for you. I know there will certainly be a fair share of challenges but I also know that the Lord is with us and we can count on Him to guide us.
