9.10.24 - What do you do when god gives you an idea?

Good morning ,

I posed this question yesterday on my personal tik tok account - what do you do when God gives you an idea?

For me, it can depend on the time and money involved. I can do anything from act quickly to ponder for weeks and even months. I will even be like Gideon and ask God to confirm it for me before moving forward. This is actually what happened in 2021 when God gave me the idea to move into the wholesale business. I asked him to confirm it 3 times and then I would know he wanted me to do it. Within a day or 2 I had confirmation. I was shocked and I still waited weeks to do anything :(

Some of the responses I received varied from moving quickly to action, prayer, asking for confirmation, becoming paralyzed, panic, and fasting.

I'll be honest with you and let you know when God gives me an idea that is uncomfortable or causes me to do something different than the plans I already have, I start overthinking everything. What if this isn't God? What if I just made this up? Does God really want me to do that? How is God going to make this work? And the questions keep going to the point where I look up and it's been weeks and I am still overthinking and feeling stuck.

Sometimes I feel like things happen in my life so I can share them with you in hopes that you will know you are not alone. There will be someone reading this email that is in this exact place with me. God gave you an idea and you are stuck trying to figure out how you are going to have time. You are wondering how this is going to work out and what if you do everything and nothing happens? (that's the real fear for me if I am being honest).

You know what I'm learning right now - God desires our faith. My faith button ranges from low battery to fully charged up (sometimes in the same day). When Jesus walked on Earth he was amazed at the faith of some of the people he healed. In Matthew 8: 5-13 is the story of the Faith of the Centurion. In verse 10 it says Jesus was amazed and said he has not found anyone in Israel with such great faith. How much different would our life would be if we had greater faith in the WHO than the how?

I don't think there is anything wrong with asking God for clarity, or being curious. However, if we are using these things to delay action (God knows our heart) instead of genuinely needing clarity or direction, then it would be good to pray about that.

When I think about Abraham (Genesis 12) leaving his country and and going to a land God would show him - I think about how the Bible doesn't tell us if he was scared or if he went the very next day. It says in verse 4, So Abraham went, as the Lord had told him and this is where obedience comes in. Maybe those exact details don't matter as much as did he obey?

If we know God gave us an idea (and it's okay to genuinely seek clarity and understanding if needed) then we must be obedient.

If I don't obey this idea God gave me, then I'm delaying what God is trying to do through me and who knows how many others will be delayed because of me. After all, none of this is about us as one individual. God uses each of us to help build his kingdom.

After several weeks of pondering an idea I'm getting ready to start something brand new. This time I pondered and prayed and little by little I started getting more and more information on how to bring an idea to life. It's been confusing, overwhelming and scary but here we go!

I hope this email reminds you that God is creative. He gives us ideas and we shouldn't waste them out of fear. If you need clarity, ask. If you need direction, ask. If you need resources, ask! He will give you what you need, but please don't let your mind rob you of what God is trying to do through you!

I appreciate you being a part of my community. It's always more than skin care :)

If this email has helped you please share it with someone you know.

Love,
Danielle
