11.6.24 - our bread
Good morning ,
One of my Tik Tok friends commented on a video I made with a quote. The video was me sharing why it's so important to read the word of God for yourself. There are a lot of leaders teaching the word out of context or misquoting scriptures to fit their agendas and sadly people are being misled.
We must take it upon ourselves to know the word of God. How amazing is it that we live in a country where the Bible is available and legal to read?!
Study the word for yourself. Meditate on the Word. Pray over the words you are reading that God would give you understanding to know his word and teach you how to apply it to your life.
The quote my friend shared was this, “The Bible is bread for everyday consumption, not cake for a special occasion.”
Get in the habit of reading the word daily, even if it's for just a few minutes.
Get the word into your heart so that when you need a word of encouragement or need to share a word of encouragement you have it.
The word of God gives us wisdom and helps us fight against temptation. It's not a once a week thing, or every now and again when we remember or have a less busy day.
The word of God is just like bread, or food, that we need to eat daily (and should want to eat). It should be just as important of a habit as brushing your teeth before you leave the house.
I love you and I want you to be well equipped for life's left turns.
I am desperately concerned for those being misled. It breaks my heart how many people are being taken advantage of and the lack of wisdom some have.
If you are looking for a place to get started reading the word - I love the book of James. It's short, straight to the point and less complicated to understand.
I appreciate you being a part of my community. It's always more than skin care :)
If this email has helped you please share it with someone you know.
Love,
Danielle
