7.24.24 - My weakness is my strength

Good morning ,

On Monday, I met with my bible study group for the last time for our 6 week study on Gideon: Your weakness. God's Strength

I was not expecting to be challenged the way that I was or grow as much as I did from those 3 chapters.

Gideon reminded me a lot of myself. Afraid, unsure, feeling small. I'm thankful for his story because it also reminded me that I don't have to do it all.

During those 6 weeks I surrendered control. I gave God my gifts back and asked him to use them however he chooses. I discovered some things I need to step away from. I became more aware of my own weaknesses (and my strengths). I have been praying more than I ever have before. I was reminded how important it is to study the Bible for ourselves. This whole experience has been hard but it's been beautiful to see how God unfolds things.

This entire time I have been feeling defeated in my weaknesses, trying to push them aside instead of allowing the Lord to use them. The truth is we all have weakness. But we also have hope in the Lord. I want to remind you that in your weakness, you are strong. Not through yourself but through Christ.

2 Corinthians 12:9-11
9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

At the end of the Bible Study Priscilla Shirer shared some touching words with us and I wanted to share them to encourage you.

Keep Him first until the end of your days.
Pursue Him above His benefits.
Expect your weakness to be a platform for His strength.
Carry on in confidence.

The Lord is with you, Mighty Warrior.

And I'll add one more from the study - Commitment trumps obedience.

I absolutely loved the 6 weeks I spent with those ladies. I'll be starting another study with them next month and I'm looking forward to seeing what the Lord does. I encourage you to join a bible study, or pray about starting your own, so that you can learn alongside others.

I appreciate you being a part of my community. It's always more than skin care :)

If this email has helped you please share it with someone you know.

Love,
Danielle
